Why We Exist
Our Mission
The American Transparency Coalition exists for one reason: citizens deserve to know who really represents them. Not the talking points. Not the campaign slogans. The record.
For every member of Congress, every Cabinet official, and every major media figure, we line up three things side by side — what they say, how they vote, and who funds them — so you can judge the gaps for yourself.
We are strictly nonpartisan. We hold every party, every official, and every outlet to the same standard. We don't editorialize, we don't endorse, and we don't take money from the people we track. Where a conflict of interest exists — a donor whose industry a member oversees, a media host with an undisclosed tie — we flag it plainly and let you decide what it means.
Democracy works best when power is visible. Our job is to make it visible.
Our standards: primary sources only (Congress.gov, FEC, public disclosures); the same scrutiny for every party; conflicts flagged, never spun; corrections made openly when we get something wrong.
Who We Are
The Founders
The American Transparency Coalition was founded by a small group of citizens — not lobbyists, not a party, not a Super PAC — who were tired of having to dig through a dozen websites to answer one simple question: is this person doing what they said they'd do?
A Citizen-Led Project
ATC is built and maintained by volunteers who believe accountability shouldn't be partisan. We come from both sides of the aisle and none of it.
Independently Funded
We accept no money from candidates, parties, PACs, or the officials and outlets we track. That independence is the whole point.
